Overview:

Big River Builders is looking for a general laborer, with the opportunity for advancement, to add to our team! Big River Builders is a family-owned local residential construction company that specializes in custom home building, design, remodeling, custom carpentry, fine finish carpentry and woodworking.

 

Daily job duties will vary depending on the specific project but generally include job site cleanup; maintaining a safe worksite environment, organizing materials and supplies, general shop work (sanding, staining and milling), job trailer mobilization, running general errands, job site snow removal, and other duties as assigned. Big River Builders is willing to train the right candidate in carpentry work; this is a great opportunity with room for advancement within the company!

 

Responsibilities:  

1. Perform job site cleanup to maintain a safe and organized work environment.

2. Mobilize and stock job trailers with necessary tools and materials, deliver material and ensuring supplies are stocked and organized for construction.

3. Run errands to support job site logistics and crew needs.

4. Remove snow and debris from job sites to ensure accessibility and safety, mow lots in
summer months.

5. Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support project progress and team efficiency.

6. Operate basic power tools and hand tools safely and effectively (e.g., drills, saws, nailguns).

7. Set up and break down temporary structures, such as scaffolding, safety barriers, or weather protection.

8. Assist carpenters with trim installation, and other fine finish tasks as appropriate.  

 

Requirements:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Valid Driver's License.
4. Experience driving trailers and bobcats.
5. Must be able to travel outside of Bismarck/Mandan area – no overnight stay.
6. Excellent communication & organizational skills.
7. Must maintain a positive, can-do attitude and demonstrate initiative by identifying tasks that need attention without constant direction.
8. Attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking skills.
9. Reliable and able to self-manage on the job site.
